sometimes i have to be a big girl.
like last friday when i took out a black widow in the long's garage. all by myself.
when we were kids, we'd have to go to the garage for something. when you're done and going back in to the house you'd have to turn out the light and securely close the door. the problem was that it was scary. like, scare-your-pants-off club scary. if you try to tell me it didn't scare you i don't know if i can believe you... : ) so really what happened when you were done in the garage was you'd take a breath, flip the light switch, dart into the house, slam the door, and run through the laundry room into the hall to safety. if you were like me, you kinda tried to pretend like it was no big deal. but really, it made my heart race. every time. : ) and truthfully, it wasn't just when i was little either... ha.
if you've done something hard before, then you can use that previous experience to help you have determination to do the new hard thing. we discussed that concept in a class i took in college almost 4 years ago. i can't remember if it has a specific term attached to it... but thanks sister nice-and-good-teacher-whose-name-i-can't-remember. and now i'm ready for my next hard thing.
You know it...you only ran into the hall for safety? I had to be all the way to the kitchen before I could breathe easy :) Remember how if we went together, we'd try to hurry out so that the other person was responsible for the door?
