when the person you share a room with comes in on a monday morning and starts showing you the items they purchased at discounted prices that could be useful in the classroom, it's only natural to pleasantly ooh, aah, and give other responses in the positive. (roommate style, if you will) then when she shows you certain things and tells you she got one for you, too, you can't really decline. hope you like it!
today as i cut open the packaging for my new "reading is fun" banner i decided that the banner really was ok. actually it ended up in a fairly prominent position...
then i asked my coworker if she wanted me to hang on to the plastic sleeve the banner came in - you know, put it in the drawer with other classroom decorations for the end of the year to put it away. she told me she didn't think so and i could toss it. she went on to say that i'd probably just want to leave the banner up on the wall at the end of the year, then at the beginning of next year i could decide if i wanted to move it or whatever.
next year??? i cried a little on the inside....
No, no, there won't be a next year. Fingers crossed for you!
