Flag Day!

Today was Flag Day!  (It was also our sweetie pie's 10 month birthday!)  I love the patriotic holidays and wanted to think of something festive for today.  In the past we've made American flag pancakes and American flag lasagna.  I feel like we've done other things, but that's all I can remember right off.  And of course there's always the red, white, and blue treats.

Last year Flag Day was on Saturday and we were in Washington D.C. where the original manuscript of the Star Spangled Banner was on display along with the flag that Francis Scott Key saw as he wrote it.  That was pretty cool.  They also had a big outdoor concert going on on the Mall with lots of groups of kids singing.

Today we made American flag meatloaf! : )

AND we went to a double Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  How patriotic! : )  The two boys together accompanied the opening hymn - America the Beautiful, one on the organ, and one on the piano.  Then there was this awesome cake made by one of the boys' aunts.
